I started reading this book but it wasn’t what I needed so I stopped reading it after a couple pages. It might be OK if you needed advise on how to answer questions about death and etc, but I had already gone thru that time with my kids/grandkids.

Some of the suggestions in this book are okay, but some are a bit far fetched. Go with your instincts. Truth is…you know your children and what works best with them. This, to me, is another person’s opinion and should be taken that way.

Betsy’s book is interesting with much good advice that is easy to understand and implement. The book provides answers to many common questions about handling certain situations. Over all, I felt the advice was sound but parents should also trust their own instincts and search out other resources.

After reading all the reviews, I’m not sure what I can add except to say that this book is indispensable. I am a junkie for parenting tips, and I’ve never read anything as straight forward and immediately helpful as “Just Tell Me What to Say”. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old, and I’ve used nearly every suggestion in this book…and I can testify that they all work. My extraordinary sons, who are very well-adjusted and reasonable, were raised on these tips. I have been taking Betsy’s classes since my oldest son was 2, and I have no doubt that my sons are thriving because of the amazing advice I have received and implemented. This book captures all that advice, and it is presented in the most organized and effective way imaginable. Every parent should have a copy of this book and use it as a bible for parenting.
